I find it very interesting that this passage of scripture is found in the famously recognized, ‘Proverbs Thirty-One’ chapter in the Bible.
The chapter is written by King Lemuel, an inspired utterance from his very own mother and ‘Proverbs Thirty-One Woman.’ It describes the characteristics of a Godly woman who is referred to as, ‘more precious than rubies.’ Verse thirty says, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” According to God, the only woman that is to be praised, or even esteemed, is one who fears and honors Him. In fact, verse twenty-nine says, “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” To qualify for that lavish of a compliment, she must worship, submit to, and have reverence for the Lord.
This noble woman implored her son to speak up on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. To defend the rights of all who are destitute. To plead for the legal rights of the defenseless and those who are dying. I can’t help but associate Proverbs 31:8-9 to the over sixty-three million babies that have been murdered through abortion since Roe vs. Wade.
God is the Creator and Author of life. Psalm 139:13 and 14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Every baby has been created by God for a divine purpose and destiny that only they can fulfill. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” To receive, perform, or support abortion would be to rebel against God’s purpose and design for life and violate His commandment to not murder.
Abortion is the act of partnering with the devil to accomplish his purpose and destiny for every creation of God; to steal, kill, and destroy, according to John 10:10.
To those of you who are reading and have received, performed, or supported abortions in the past, but have been remorseful and have repented; God forgives you. When I say the words remorseful and repented, I am referring to Godly remorse and repentance mentioned in 2 Corinthians 7:10 and 11, “God designed us to feel remorse over sin in order to produce repentance that leads to victory. This leaves us with no regrets…Can’t you see the good fruit that has come, as God intended, because of your remorse over sin? Now you are eager to do what is right! Look at the indignation you experienced over what happened and how alarmed you became. What holy longing it awakened, what passion for God, and how ready you were to bring justice to the offender. Your response has proved that you are free of blame in this matter.”
To experience Godly remorse toward abortion, you must see it as the sin of murder that it is and take extreme ownership of that truth at all costs.
The next step is to confess the sin to God, apologize, and receive the forgiveness and healing that He has for you. You may even cry, but crying doesn’t automatically lead to repentance. Repentance means to change your thoughts, words, and actions to align with Gods thoughts, words, and actions on the subject. True repentance is turning away from the sin and pursuing righteousness. True repentance doesn’t make exceptions or make justifications with loopholes. The simple thing about truth is that it never changes. It doesn’t change in certain situations or circumstances. Why? Because God is truth, and He doesn’t change.
“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind." Numbers 23:19.
“…Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
To those of you who are reading and aren’t remorseful or sorrowful toward abortion and promote, perform, and support it, you are deceived by Satan himself and your works are not to be praised.
Even though you are working for Satan, God absolutely loves you and wants you to hear, believe, and act on His truth by repenting, so He can extend His mercy, grace, and forgiveness, while there is still time to do so.
I’ve heard many different statements inspired by the devil that were an attempt to justify abortion. Unfortunately, a vast amount of people have embraced the lies and formed their beliefs according to them. The devil will accommodate you if you are not someone who allows the Bible to form your beliefs on abortion. He has convinced the masses with false justifications that have included but are not limited to:
Abortion is ‘economic justice’
A woman has a ‘right’ or ‘choice’ and everyone else should ‘mind their own uterus’
Abortion is ‘healthcare’
Mental or physical deformities with the baby in utero, or death of baby in utero
Conception in the event of rape
These claims are inspired by Satan with the agenda to execute his devices of stealing, killing, and destroying in the earth.
Abortion is 'economic justice'
To the teenage or young adult who was engaging in pre-marital sex and conceived, it’s time to take ownership of your actions and be responsible with the child you’ve been entrusted with. You are not entitled to your youthful ‘high school’ or ‘college years’. You chose to engage in sex outside of the security of marriage, therefore you have surrendered your childhood. Do not sacrifice your baby on the altar of your entitlement. Do not entertain the lies that say your life is over. You can finish high school. You can graduate from college. You can go on to be a very successful and prosperous woman. You are not doomed to poverty and lack unless that is what you choose.
Do not yield to the crippling fears that the devil bombards you with. Do not hide your pregnancy from your parents or loved ones out of fear of what they will say or do. Especially, do not succumb to the pressures of abortion from so called ‘friends’ or ‘loved ones’. You need to surround yourself with people who will speak truth, life, and love over you and your baby because that is what is best for the both of you. Choose a Bible-believing church to attend service at every Sunday. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you haven’t already done so. Join a women’s or mom’s Bible study at church to learn from experienced Godly women who can support you, teach you, and come along side you to impart the wisdom you need in your life to be a successful mother. You will grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally as you act on what the Bible says. God is the greatest Parent there is and the Bible is your instruction manual. Learn from Him. He will impart His grace, strength, and ability to you to build a legacy for your child and future generations. Philippians 4:13 says, “For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.”
'Mind your own uterus'
To the person who believes that a woman has the right or choice to abort her baby because it is ‘her uterus’, I challenge your creative ability. What gives you the right to take ownership of your uterus to the level of utter creation. You were not the one who created your uterus; God did. Have you ever considered that God had a purpose for your uterus when He created it? Genesis 1:28 says, “Then God blessed them and gave them this directive: “Be fruitful and multiply. Populate the earth. I make you trustees of My estate, so care for My creation and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that roams across the earth.”
God designed women to be carriers of His creative nature inside their uterus. What an honor that is! What a beautiful expression of God’s love toward women – allowing them to share in the glory of His creative nature.
To murder the life that is growing on the inside of you would be to abort the life that God created you to live for.
Abortion is 'healthcare'
To the person whose baby has received a diagnosis of physical or mental deformities from an ultrasound, I would like to present a few things for your consideration.
Ultrasounds can be wrong.
Doctors and nurses can be wrong.
I have known personally mothers who were told their child would have down syndrome and were encouraged to get an abortion by medical ‘professionals’. Thankfully, the parents were believers in Jesus Christ, valued the life of their baby, and were convicted that abortion was murder, so they denied the recommendation and gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby, that did not have down syndrome.
If doctors are not detecting normal organ development in your baby during ultrasounds, we have a miracle working God that is in the business of creating! Apply the Word of God to your situation and start speaking scriptures over your baby’s body and your womb. The doctors may be presenting you with a current fact about your baby or womb, but facts don’t always line up with the truth of the Word of God.
Truth trumps facts.
Apply the Word of God to your circumstance and watch the truth change the facts!
The problem is, too many people don’t believe in God and have rejected His Son Jesus. Or those who do believe in God and have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, don’t know Him, don’t know what the Bible says, and don’t know how to receive His blessings. Our Heavenly Father deeply loves your baby and cares about their health and development. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, pay attention to all the words I am telling you. Lean in closer so you may hear all I say. Keep them before you; meditate on them; set them safely in your heart. For those who discover them, they are life. They bring wholeness and healing to their bodies.” Another translation says that the Bible is medicine to all their flesh.
Abortion is not the remedy, Gods Word is.
Even if your baby doesn’t develop normally and does transition to Heaven, God made our bodies to know just what to do in that situation. A woman’s body will go into labor naturally and deliver the baby. I have close friends that have delivered a stillborn baby. They were pressured by their doctors to extract the baby verses waiting for their body to naturally deliver. Thankfully, they denied the doctors procedure that was motivated from liability reasons and gave birth to their beautiful baby at home. When you abort your baby, you forfeit the natural grief process that God wants to bring you through and heal you from. The grief of murder is very different than the grief of natural death. When you put a hand to the murder of your baby, the devil becomes your best friend and brings his demons of guilt, shame, and condemnation that will torment you.
Conception in the event of rape
To the person who conceived in a traumatic event such as rape or incest, I am so sorry that you experienced such physical, mental, emotional and spiritual turmoil. The devil was leading that person to execute such ungodliness. God loves you and wants you to come to Him for healing and restoration of your entire being; spirit, soul, and body.
The healing touch of Jesus Christ will redeem the lustful touch of that painful offense.
Do not embrace the lie that says if you were to deliver this baby you will forever be tormented by the offense. Do not believe the contrary that says if you abort the baby, it will erase the torment of the offense; it will only multiply it. Satan wants you to harbor resentment, hatred, and bitterness toward the assailant so you never become free from the offense. Un-forgiveness is cancer to our spirit, soul, and body. If you open up your heart to Jesus Christ, you can experience His divine healing, forgiveness, and agape love that will restore your purity. This redemption will cause you to extend the same unconditional love and forgiveness that God distributed to you, to the person that sinned against you.
Forgiveness is the highway to healing.
To the mom who was tempted to receive an abortion but amid all her fears chose to honor God and esteem the life of her baby, God is pleased with you. God’s power, strength, and grace is available for you in an unending supply. To be a mother is a high calling. It is not to be diminished, degraded, or discredited. `Proverbs 31:28-30 says, "“Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well, [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all. Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!”
Every woman that supports babies being murdered is not a woman at all. She is the counterfeit woman that Proverbs refers to as the adulterous woman. She is the woman that has abandoned God and His Word. The woman who has not been faithful to God, rather to Satan and done his works. God warns us against her sinful lusts in Proverbs 7:25-27, “Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her way or stray into her paths. Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death.”
The truth about abortion is that it is sin.
Abortion is a strategy of the devil to steal, kill, and destroy Gods most valuable creation; humanity. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Out of all that God created, He chose humans to be made in His image and likeness. You will understand His heart toward you, your baby, and all of humanity, when you know His heart through a personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. If you have never surrendered your heart to His Son Jesus Christ, now is the time to do so. John 3:16 says, "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave His only begotten unique Son, so that whoever believes in, (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish, (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal everlasting life."
Repeat this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus name. I believe that your Son Jesus came to save me from my sins. I have sinned against you. I am sorry for all my sins. I ask you to forgive me. I repent for rebelling against you and serving the devil. Cleanse me, wash me, and make me brand new with your Holy Spirit on the inside of me. Help me to live according to your Word. I want to know you deeply. I want to love you all the days of my life.
If you have received, supported, or performed an abortion but are remorseful and would like to repent, say this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus name. I rebuke every demonic spirit that has influenced me to receive, support, or perform an abortion. I have sinned against you. I am sorry for all my sins. Heal my broken heart. Set me free from this pain and restore my mind according to your truth. Cleanse me, wash me, and make me brand new with your Holy Spirit on the inside of me. Help me to live according to your Word. I want to know you deeply. I want to love you all the days of my life and stand up for your truth.
